John To Retire
Auto Factors on Bridge Street is closing after 18 years in operation. John McNamara has worked there from the start, originally for Sligo Auto Factors, before buying out the business twelve years ago and running his own show. Now John is closing down - but not because business is slow. “The Auto Factor business is booming” claims John “There never has been a better time in this trade - but I have done my bit - it’s now time to get out and enjoy more leisure pursuits”.

Sean Graham Bookmakers open in town
Sean Graham Bookmakers will be opening a new shop in Donegal Town this Friday 14th November. With shops already throughout Ireland and Scotland including 3 established shops in the Northwest in Buncrana, Derry and Letterkenny, Sean Graham’s have now decided to offer their superb and unique betting service to the good people of Donegal Town and surrounding areas.
Grahams offer a complete betting service for horse racing, greyhounds, numbers (lotto and 49’s), golf, GAA and more - also giving morning prices on all horse races each day.
The new shop has a 16 screen service for horses and greyhounds plus Sky for premiership soccer matches and other sports. The modern style shop will let punters bet and watch racing in comfort.

Mc Gettigan Butchers National Sausage Champions

Sausage making is a craft, an age-old skill. Sausages and puddings are truly artisan products made with the finest of Irish ingredients. In every town in Ireland you will find a craft butcher producing some of the finest sausages, each unique to that shop.
And none better than our own Ernan and Dermot Mc Gettigan who last week picked up the prestigious title of All-Ireland champions at the national Butchershow – winning the gold award in the Traditional Butcher’s Sausage category. Speaking to Donegal Times, Ernan said that winning this title was a major achievement as this is the bread and butter sausage served for the Irish breakfast every morning. Two years ago McGettigans were overall winner at the show with a speciality sausage.
